Kashmiri Tea
Ingredients:
1 tsp Kashmiri tea
4 cardomom pods, bruised
1 sm piece cinnamon stick
pinch saffron strands
4 cups (32 floz) boiling water
2 tbsp finely flaked almonds
sugar or honey to taste
Method
1. Prepare the samovar with coals in it's central tube if using, or warm the teapot by letting it stand for a minute or two with boiling water in it. Rinse it out, put in the tea and spices and pour the measured boiling water over. Allow to steep for 5 mins. Put a teaspoonful of almonds in each bowl. Pour the tea over the almonds, sweeten to taste and serve hot.
